The Grand canyon of Europe
From Grasse you will take the historic NAPOLEON ROAD a long but splendid scenic route that will take you to the area of Castellane, entrance of the canyon.
Between Castellane and Moustiers the VERDON CANYON becomes wild, offering one of the most impressive show in Europe. Several balconies will provide incredible panoramas over this natural wonder. For those who are looking for some thrill, bungee jumping is a must of the place, as well as canoeing and kayaking.
Villages and lavender
At the end of the canyon the famous village of MOUSTIERS-SAINTE-MARIE will surprise you by a its impressive location on the side of the mountain. Despite being the most visited village of High Provence it preserved its charm and its tradditional stoneware activity.
Between the middle of June and the middle of July the VALENSOLE PLATEAU the unfolds its rows of lavender for tens of kilometers, offering one of the most famous landscape in the world.
The Sainte-Croix lake, on the side of Moustiers, is a perfect place for water sports.
