Of villages and men
Off the beaten path in the hills of Nice for demanding travelers
Want to travel OFF the beaten path?
Drowned in the middle of a sea of olive trees, the hills of the north of Nice are hidden treasures still ignored by tours and visitors. Located between the crowded seaside and the mountains of the Mercantour, it’s the land of the Olive.
You will discover there some of the most charming sceneries, the centenarians’ mysterious ruins of the ghost village of Castel Nuovo, some postcard views, jewels like Peillon, “one of the most beautiful village in France”, the impressive fortifications of Lucéram, Saint-Agnès the highest coastal village in Europe, and hundred-year-old croplands and forests… but also Coaraze, Tourrette-Levens and maybe Falicon.
By visiting the Val Del Prat mill, become part of this rich history, and you’ll be able to enjoy the authenticity of the olive oil country, in the Paillon valley.
Experiences: Step away from the beaten track, visit a ghost village abandoned 300 years ago and an olive oil mill of the XVIIIth century.
Itinerary: Peillon, Luceram, Val Del Prat mill, Coaraze, Chateauneuf-Villevieille, Tourrette-Levens, Saint-Agnès, Falicon
