Project Description

Lu Nustral !

Saint-Paul-de-Vence, Tourrettes-sur-Loup, Gourdon & Hauts-de-Cagnes

The Loup valley lies in the middle of the « flower hills », picturesque countryside where men built mineral villages, hundreds of years ago.
Following the road of the balconies of the Riviera is, somehow, like tasting the charms of Provence. Over there centuries left a perfume of eternity on every site.

Your journey will start with the Haut-de-Cagnes, built around the Grimaldi castle, a staircase village which attracted many famous painters. You will keep on with Saint-Paul-de-Vence, once a strong hold on the French border, nowadays occupied by art galleries and stone lovers. Then Tourrettes-sur-Loup will show you another aspect of the south with its quiet little streets populated with craftsmen, where we’ll share with you some hidden and preserved secrets. A side road will then take you to “les Courmettes”, land of herds, where you have the option to visit a goat farm and taste the organic cheese.

The drive through the Loup canyon, spectacular and dramatic in itself – yet doesn’t compare to what Gourdon has to offer: perched 760 meters above the sea level, it provides a panorama over 40 kilometers of seaside . . . something you won’t forget!
On the way back, food lovers may want to stop in a peasant cooperative.

Experiences: The option to meet a sheepherder-poet and his goats, visit his farm in the mountain, learn to manufacture goat cheese, and taste a real home-made organic cheese. Contact with the animals.
